Important Software Notes

• The Media Control Panel is compatible with both Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
• Windows Media Services is a proprietary application and is only compatible with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or 2008.
• Windows Media Services & MediaCP are compatible on both 32bit and 64bit operating systems.

• A Web Server, PHP & MySQL are required before you order or perform an installation service.
• 3rd Party Control panels such as cPanel, Plesk and DirectAdmin are supported.
• For Plesk, you may need to disable open_basedir restrictions.

Hardware Requirements

CPU Requirements:
CPU requirements vary depending on the type of media service that is being operated. Refer to the below items for more information.
If you plan to operate more than 50 Media Services of any type on your server, we recommend using a dual quad core CPU for best performance.

Disk Space Requirements:
The Media Control Panel is only a small application and requires about 75MB of space on your system.
We recommend a minimum 2GB space is available to completely enjoy all features of the control panel.

Memory Requirements:
256MB Minimum, 1GB Recommended (Refer to Specific Media Server Requirements below)

Licensing Requirements:
1 Static IP Address & 1 Static Domain Name with access to clients.cast-control.net, license.cast-control.net and www.cast-control.net.

PHP Requirements:
magic_quotes_gpc, open_basedir, disable_functions should be disabled. All PHP functions should be allowed.
Required Modules: CURL, LDAP, MYSQL, GD

MySQL Database Server Requirements:
Strict Mode Disabled - Most Linux servers is default disabled - Windows Servers are default ENABLED - More information here.

Media Service Hardware Requirements

Shoutcast V1 & V2 Hardware Requirements

Compatible with both Linux and Windows.
Shoutcast Server uses Minimal CPU & Memory.

100 Icecast Server Requirements
CPU: Core Duo 2.0 + recommended.
Memory: 512MB Minimum Recommended.

Icecast 2 Hardware Requirements

Compatible with both Linux and Windows.
Icecast Server uses Minimal CPU & Memory.

100 Icecast Server Requirements
CPU: Core Duo 2.0 + recommended.
Memory: 512MB Minimum Recommended.

Wowza Media Server Requirements

Compatible with both Linux and Windows.

As a minimum we recommend a quad core system with at least 1 GB of RAM per core. To get the most throughput out of Wowza Media Server software we suggest you use RAID 0 or RAID 10 configurations with at least 2 or more disks in the array. Depending upon your application and load, you may need more or less horsepower.
